The frame is very solid now. The lighter frame allowed for flexing which was causing a resonance problem. A new problem developed though. There was a small vibration that was being picked up by the yaw gyro. This in turn caused havoc on the main rotors which amplified the effects. The vibration amplitude increased with rpm which suggested it was coming from the rotor s. It allowed me to measure the vibration amplitude and frequency with an oscilloscope.
I used it as a guide to find the vibration source. I simply began removing rotor components until I had the culprit red handed. It turned out to be the front rotor flybar which was slightly off center. I had rebuilt the front rotor head when changing the frame sides. I did this late at night when apparently too tired. A minor thing like this can be a source of much larger problems.
The heli now flies like a dream and is rock solid. It is hard to describe how realistic it is and the sound the rotors make especially from the area where they overlap. It has that characteristic "wapping" sound the full scale birds make. I am still using the stock Align KV motor with a 3S battery. Flights are about 8 or 9 minutes with gentile flying.

It now has a digital filter on the rudder channel that filters out high frequency vibration induced noise from the gyro. The filter has 4 settings - off, low, medium and high.
Looks like summer for a release. No exact date yet. The motor mounts have entered production. They will be stamped CNC punch from 0. Not much has been done on it lately. This will produce two plugs left and right which will be used to make a set of master rubber molds female. The master molds will be used to make the production molds from an aluminum filled epoxy.
We will try to get some pictures of this process. They were laser cut from 0. The engine plugs are in the works and are expected to be ready in a few weeks.

The servos will need to be mounted differently than shown in the pics so far. Most will need to be mounted so the flange is on the inside of the frame sides. The rear "E" servo has been relocated into the body cavity. The rear tower just doesn't have enough clearance. The existing mounting hole is still provided and can be used without the body. Trimming the body from the molded sheet was easy with a 16 blade.
The wide blade allows you to use the body as a guide. Note: The body is only taped on and is not in the exact scale position yet. Those on our waiting list will be contacted first. The pins that connect the suspension arms to the rear assembly have a thickness of 1mm and are stainless steel. The dogbone axle assemblies are a sight to behold, as seeing the axles this small is really hard to imagine.
The dogbone shaft is only a mere 1mm thick, but offers plenty of strength for the pint-sized truck. The axle stub has a flat spot which is made specifically to mate with the wheel, and the stub rotates inside a set of bushings.
A groove on the end is meant for the e-clip that holds the wheel in place on the 2mm axle stub. The Micro-T uses plastic friction shocks to handle the dampening duties. At the top end of the shock, a plastic shock cap is used to hold the upper end of the spring is in place. The tires for the Micro-T are pre-glued onto yellow rims that are very easy to see.
The front tires are ribbed, and meant to provide good traction when cornering. The rear tires are a multi-pin style, which provide good traction on dirt. The pinned tires will also work well on carpet, which is a good thing since the small Micro-T will likely spend some time indoors as well. The tires use foam inserts between them and the wheel. This helps the tire maintain its shape.
To allow air to flow in and out of the tire freely, Losi has pre-drilled holes into the wheel. Both the front and rear wheels are held in place by e-clips, due to the small axle size. The front wheels rotate on plastic bushings. Battery Pack Electronics Motor. The battery pack that supplies the Micro-T with power is housed on the underside of the chassis. Two screws hold the pack in place and the plug routes back up to the top of the truck where it plugs into the speed control. The battery pack provides a total of 4.
Under the receiver is the steering servo. The micro motor is mounted to the rear of the stadium truck on a metal plate, and is protected by a plastic brace that wraps around the motor. The motor is equipped with a tooth pinion from the factory. Transmission Optional Pinions Inside the Transmission. The pinion and spur gap is adjustable to accommodate the optional pinions included with the truck. The stock plastic spur gear is protected by a slipper clutch just as a larger stadium truck would be.
The inner workings of the transmission spin on a set of ball bearings. The inner gears are brass, while the outer gears and idler gear are made of plastic. The gear mounted opposite of the spur shaft is also manufactured of brass.
Then grab a set of the included AA batteries, and place them into the AM radio. The fact that Losi includes the AA batteries illustrates the fact that they really wanted this vehicle to be truly ready to run.
Insert the other AA batteries into the back of the charger, and then plug the charger into the battery. Since the Losi Micro-T is electric, it was easy to get it up and running. The most time consuming preparation task was charging the battery, and that simply involves waiting for the charger to complete its task. On the other side of the coin, I saw runtimes in the minute range. The exact runtime depended upon how aggressive I was driving the Micro-T, and the gearing option used.
The larger pinion would shorten the runtime, while the smaller pinion increased it slightly. However, the speed provided by the Micro-T was surprising. Outdoors, with plenty of room, the truck seemed a little tamer. However, once in an enclosed area, I found myself watching exactly how much throttle I was using. Even in a large room, such as the basement game room I made my indoor runs in, the Micro-T had more than enough power to suit any speed junky.
Initially it was just for a photo shoot to give me the header image for this article, but before I left the truck spent some time in the dirt. I started by zipping the Micro-T up and down the carpeted pit road, but soon headed towards the track.
The large oversized jumps prevented the truck from getting major air, but I was very pleased at the level of control the truck seemed to offer. It stuck to the track well, showing that the friction-based shocks and the small truck well a pretty well-matched combination for general driving.

I fashioned a ramp using some items I had lying around and jumped the Micro-T seeking some airtime. The micro-sized stadium truck took to the air well, and landed with a little bounce to it.
It was even more fun to put the ramp on the landing for the stairs, and jump the last couple of steps down to the floor of the game room. The truck would soar into the air, although the landing was a little more bouncy than the smaller jumps. The height of the jump pushed the friction shocks a little harder than the smaller jump, and started to show the limit of what friction shocks could reasonably dampen. Despite the use of friction shocks, overall control was very good while jumping the Micro-T.
The Losi Micro-T is just so much faster than one would think it would be upon first glance. Despite that, so you want to go faster? Simply slap the tooth pinion onto the motor and reset the pinion and spur gap. Be aware that the motor will run a little warmer though, especially when doing a lot of start and stop driving or running on carpet.
So allow a little cool down time between runs if you have multiple packs. The tooth pinion is great for getting plenty of speed up for when the running area is smaller, and extends the runtime on a battery charge slightly as well.
I found myself using the tooth pinion most of the time, as it offered a balance that seemed to suit the truck very well. The question everyone probably wants to know is what sort of speed to expect out of the Micro-T. For that, I pulled out my trusty radar gun and took some readings. The Micro-T offers a very stout durability factor as well, which surprised me.
While I managed to bang it into the wall a few times myself while driving it, I opted to really put the truck though the torture test via my 3 year old son. I turned him loose with the truck and let him run a full battery out in the basement game room. He tends to perform most of his running wide open, and slammed the Micro-T into the walls, brick fireplace, pool table, and treadmill over the course of the time he ran it. Way cool! In the past, I have found that some of these radios sent out with Ready to Fly planes are just plain cheap. However, the Q did a better job than most of the cheap radios I have tried! Throughout the maiden flight, the Voyager flew well.
I added some throttle and the plane started flying immediately! Due to its three-channel design, aerobatics are limited. Loops were easy, and stall turns looked pretty cool! I finally had to land because I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Remember how I said no wind? That means I was dinner for a bunch of annoying, hungry insects! Even while staving off the dastardly little blood suckers, landing the Voyager was easy!

With the exception of the main-motor, everything works fine swash servos, tail motor, throttle cut, etc. Main-motor arms, and attempts to spin up - then just 'jerks' a few time - followed by the main board resetting itself.
Amain staff think I have it configured wrong - as do the Align tech support folks they put me in contact with. I have followed the very very incomplete instruction sheet that comes with the heli, in addition to the instructions on the Align website. I bought the original back in , it was one of the worst purchases in my RC History next to the CFX roll, crash die , it flew wild, broke easy and stayed broken unless you enjoy soldering super small connectors Since Blade Decided to send the MCPX BL to the scrap heap I found myself looking at the X and after reading a review I decided against my better judgment to take the plunge again. All I can say to the others who tried the original and were disappoint is that the X is a whole new beast.

I have owned it for about 4 months. It can be tamed down or you can have it doing some awesome 3d. It is durable and a true flying marvel for being so small.
It is best when you have less than 10 mph winds. You must adjust your gain add enough expo to your radio and this heli will do many things my size heli will do. It is sad to hear other bad experiences with this heli, it almost discourged me just reading them even though I already own it! Both my a friend and I got one and we both love them.
We always fly over grass as this will cushion any crash as long as you hit throttle hold. I have an mcpxbl and I can save this one out hard maneuvers just about every time inches from the ground. I have crashed it many times and it keeps on flying great. Make sure you level the swash and change out main gear and it starts to slip and make the heli shake. My cyclic gain is about 85 and it is really locked in.

It is on rails!! For about the cost of two Nano CPS's the x is 20 times the heli. I own two Nano CPS's which have taught me a lot without the fear of breaking them. I wanted the longevity and power of a brushless main and tail so I bought the x. I did not expect to have the handling of a heli five times its size!

I have had three hard crashes, one of which was inverted in to the ground, so far the only damage was the plastic canopy and the landing skids. The and fiberglass canopy can take a beating. I recommend getting the fiberglass canopy and extra skids when you order this.
