The other thing that was also great about this book and a bit frustrating to be honest was that Keegan didn't know who Dreamgirl tracy actually was, while Dahlia didn't know she was Dream Girl all along. And this one has a twist I wasn't really sure the characters could Dreamgirl tracy. Her too-controlling manager of a Dreamfirl just wanted too mu chair from her and she is emancipated from him for a year. I thought yracy was a bit more complentative than the other books, but it was also funny and light at the same time, and it fitted both these characters so well, because they were both going through so much. Dahlia Greene — aka international pop superstar Cherry — is undercover as a normal high school student. She just wants to experience what real life is like, so when she overhears hottie Keegan Matthews nervously talking about liking a girl, she sees the perfect opportunity to live a real life and play a little matchmaker. What was not part of the plan was falling for a guy she can never tell the truth.

Keegan Matthews has been secretly crushing on Dahlia ever since she started at his school. But with so many secrets in the mix, their romance is doomed from the start…. But I have to say that I think this one is my favorite! I do like this formula! The writing was amazing. I thought it was a bit more complentative than the other books, but it was also funny and light at the same time, and it fitted both these characters so well, because they were both going through so much.

I absolutely loved Dahlia! Keegan was so amazing! Having a business guy in the middle of all those artists is brilliant, especially because it also makes you think how important what he does is to the whole artist vibe of his friends. They both have so many layers! I love them both :D. The plot was really simple and great. It was really great to see little glimpses of the characters of the other books, especially Finn, who keeps getting better and better throughout the books.

I really liked her character and easily connected with her. It acts like a standalone. I am very interested in what happens next with these two and will be keeping my eye out for their next story. All Episodes He was a breath of fresh air for a main teenage boy character. Excuse me for not giving a coherent review, as I'm going to go full-out fangirl on your behind. And then whispered, "Now you kiss me.

When I read the description I thought about a total different thing. The plot sucks and these authors do not make it clear that what happens. Does Keegan's dad dies or no? And they should have made it a bit longer, I wanted to see that how will his dad react when he finds out that Dahlia is Cherry. And the cover is so ugly. You don't really have to read the other books to understand this one. It acts like a standalone. Finally, it was just plainly plotless and only centers on how Dahlia wants to keep her identity secret, Dahlia can't date Keegan, etc.

So three stars only. May 15, Billie Flaming rated it liked it. Cute, fluffy romance. The characters and plot threads don't go particularly deep, but for this sort of story, they don't need to.

Mar 18, Antonella rated it it was amazing Shelves: fav-couples , fav-ya. Sweet story with sad parts left in it and very good music reference. Dahlia and Keegan my fav couple from all Nexgen gang. It 's so good written that I read it in one go. He is class president and she is pop star incognito.

He is loved by everyone in the school and she is trying to just blend in. Again ending was bit sudden and left a lot of thing unresolved. I would like to read more about these two.

And that kiss scene, well damn Mar 09, M. Great book. First Half of the book I was bright smiles and gushing. Yeah, gushing, squealing, you name it. But then we reach the self deprecating stages of the book. The doubt and yearning and all the trials both MCs had to face and I found myself scrolling through pages just to get another taste of the giggles. It didn't happen, it was still a good book. Hence, the 4 star rating. It would have been a five if I'd only gotten that one last hit.

If these aren't signs of an addict, then I don't kn Great book. If these aren't signs of an addict, then I don't know what is; The NextGen crowd is back and bringing us another very sweet romance. Needless to say, I loved revisiting the characters I met in the last two books especially my series crush, Finn , getting to know more about characters I had only heard a few things about and following closely the relationship between Keegan and Dahlia. She was mentioned 3. Now we know a lot about Dahlia and what she was hiding from the rest of the school.

Or better yet, who — her stage-persona, Cherry. Poor girl. I liked that Keegan was different from his colleagues in a way that he seemed more practical and down to earth. It all made him very likable and relatable. Plus, there were more than just a couple of moments when I wanted to hug him.

He truly was a nice guy — the nicest so far. As they start to spend time together, the chemistry between them starts to build up to the point I could barely take it.

They were adorable together, but they were also hot. Way hotter than the last two couples and I applaud that. The scene when they finally get together is wow! With great chemistry, hot kissing scenes, likable characters dealing with complex decisions, an extremely sweet love interest dealing with a heartbreaking situation at home and a main character with a promising storyline, The Secret Life of a Dream Girl was a great addition to the series.

Aug 29, Kassiah rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorites-of , ya , ft-swoon-worthy-guy , reviewed-swoony-boys , pub But I'm rounding up because Finn was here again.

And glorious. I especially love her alter-ego Tracy Wolff or maybe Deebs is the alter-ego, I'm not sure how these things work because she consistently brings crazy hot characters with swoon and banter and fresh storylines. And it's my fave so far! International pop sensation Dahlia is undercover at NextGen Academy as a regular student at a performing arts high school.

Think Hannah Montana, here, but slightly less kooky and without Billy Ray. She overhears hottie Keegan talking about a girl he's been crushing on and decides to help play matchmaker, not knowing she's the object of his affections. As the lines between Dahlia and Keegan blur, can they fess up to their secrets before they crash and burn? I really liked this book. I loved the quick pacing and the banter.

I loved Keegan and thought he was such a sweetie. You just walked Dream Girl to the door and she smiles up at you, bats her eyes a little. As he did, he brushed his palm against her cheek just to feel the softness of her skin. That's really good. Now you should tell me I'm beautiful.

I mean, Dream Girl. You should tell Dream Girl that she's beautiful. He waited for her next instructions, but they were more than a little slow in coming, so he finally asked, "Now what? She swallowed again, took a couple of deep, shaky breaths. And then whispered, "Now you kiss me.

I also loved having Finn and the whole Creative HeArts gang here. From the first moment we see Finn which is early on , I was so excited. I don't know why I love him so much, but I can't get enough. I'm Mia McCain's son. Right now, I'm the hottest ticket in this place. Jun 07, Poulami rated it really liked it Shelves: romance , contemporary , young-adult. Originally posted on Daydreaming Books. And it definitely delivered the promise made in the disclaimer!

I'm totally loving this series so much and this book was a great addition to the series. Dahlia is actually an international pop star, she goes by the name Cherry. After gaining legal emancipation, she has to fulfill one last thing, complete the last year of her high school in a normal school as ordered by the judge. She has always yearned for a normal life, that's why she decides to take on a disguise so that nobody would recognise her. When she accidentally hears a bit of a conversation between Keegan and his friend about the girl he's crushing on, she steps up and decides to help without knowing that his dream girl is actually her.

Would anything between them be ever possible? I loved the plot! And I loved how everything was executed! Dahlia just decides to help Keegan after overhearing a conversation at a school dance, she just basically starts project Dream Girl without even asking if he's on board or not!

But it turned out to be quite hysterical than awkward as Keegan could not understand whatever the hell was going on. And later when she told him the plan, he decides to be on board but he uses her own advice to woo her which was quite adorable! I loved them together from the start, they were just so cute!

She kept her identity a secret from everybody, even from Keegan because she could see how everyone waited for an opportunity to jump on Finn from How Willa Got Her Groove Back and she wanted a normal life, just for once. I totally understood her situation, especially after how her dad and manager treated her. Keegan was a total sweetheart. He was so sweet and caring and I actually enjoyed to see how he was nervous in telling Dahlia that he actually liked her!

But their chemistry was totally adorable and that kiss! Oh my God! It was basically perfection! The plot kept me interested from the beginning and I loved the characters. The romance was sooo sweet , I loved Keegan and Dahlia together! The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book! Though this book somewhat ended on a happy note well Recommend it? Jun 14, Lenore Kosinski rated it really liked it Shelves: netgalley.

So yet again I was left feeling a bit unfulfilled by the ending, but at least this time I wasn't blind-sided by it. It's like when reading Mariely and Cabot's story, I saw on Goodreads that it says "Mariely and Cabot book 1" or whatever, but at that point I didn't quite understand the ramifications of that.

I found that with this book we got a bit more of a HFN than we did with Crazy, Stupid Fauxmance, but I guess I still felt like the pacing was a bit weird with how these were laid out.

It makes me want to wait for all the books in the series to be out so I can just binge them. OK, sorry for that huge aside, I was just getting my thoughts out. I actually really enjoyed this one. I enjoy the whole rockstar in disguise trope, and I really felt for Dahlia or Cherry. We didn't delve too deeply into her past, so you don't see concrete examples of how her father used her, but it is alluded to heavily. And she really is in a tricky position trying to stay under the radar so no one realizes who she really is.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe when no one recognizes the star who is incognito, but I bought the explanations in this book. She definitely had a lot going on inside her, but I feel like there's still so much more to learn about her. And Keegan had my heart breaking. I lost my father to cancer when I was a teenager, so I can really feel for everything he's going through in that part of his personal life. And then on the other hand, he was so fricking adorable with how much he liked Dahlia and how nervous he was about it all!

I just wanted to squeeze him. There was some interesting depth to his character that I loved with him being in this arts school, but not really having a particular art that he is talented in. And the chemistry between these two was just fantastic! That kiss!!! Holy smokes, that kiss. It was both sweet and hot. And damn it all, yet again I want to read Finn's book book 2 , even though I'm pretty sure it's an even less satisfying ending than books 3 and 4 were.

Maybe I'll wait until the next installment is almost out and then get into it. So basically my only disappointment with this book is that I don't have concrete answers on when more is coming out. Because I'm uber greedy like that. No pressure Ms. Jul 18, books are love rated it really liked it. I enjoyed Keegan. He was a breath of fresh air for a main teenage boy character. Him being in a school of the arts but is more of a business guy was great.

He was also down to earth and grounded. He cared about those around him and he had so much going on in this book. I really loved reading his POV in the book. Dahlia aka Cherry was the other POV. She had just gotten a much deserved chance to have a normal life thanks to the judge. Unfortunately for her it meant hiding herself from a I enjoyed Keegan. Unfortunately for her it meant hiding herself from a boy. A boy she liked. That would be Keegan.

Watching her war with herself about this was awesome. She wanted to tell him but was afraid. To me Keegan would have understood her situation and being the great guy he was would have kept her identity secret. Yes understand why but still it was wrong.

What made this entertaining was the Dahlia was helping Keegan get the girl he liked and he went along with it because he was hoping Dahlia would see who he liked and become more to him than a friend. So Dahlia had him testing out dates etc on her when really Keegan was over the moon and full of hope she would realize he liked her.

Both were kind and caring. Keegan especially and he was nice to everyone. He was honest and loyal. Also he was trustworthy. Keegan was also going through alot with his dad. That part was heartbreaking. Other than that the story was so light and entertaining.

I liked how he was more hurt about not being trusted than anything else by Dahlia. He forgave fast and was really sweet about all of it. The story was nicely paced. More Keegan than Dahlia and I think that made the book more grounded and fun. We saw her struggles, his love, loyalty and kindness through his eyes and to him it was just him being himself so he had humility as well.

This is a fun entertaining story of Keegan and Dahlia the girl keeping her true identity secret. How they come together, become friends and learn more about one another and how they end up together in the end. A lazy day on the beach read that just leaves you happy and warm afterwards. Jun 27, Cathy rated it really liked it. Everyone always has a story and what a wonderful way to keep the stories of this group of friends together than by bringing out concurrent books in one series.

There is a deep connection the two of them have on different levels and I loved reading about them and their journey. There is a lot going on in both of theirs lives separately but when they come together they help one another cope with the things they are going through. Dahlia in her own right is going through a lot of life changes as well, not the same as Keegan but definitely as important.

These things will change her for the rest of her life. Overall this was a great quick read that will leave you wanting more and get you interested in this series and the other characters that are involved. I think the cover is super cute and is very Entangled Crush type and I love it because this is such a cute adorable cover as they always are, never a disappointment.

Go read this, great for a quick summer read on the beach. Jul 05, Brooke The Cover Contessa rated it liked it Shelves: reads , contemporary , entangled. I want to thank Entangled Crush for providing me with a copy of this book to read and give an honest review.

Receiving this book for free has in no way altered my opinion or review. I have to say that these quick contemporary reads really grab me! When I was invited to read this installation in the Creative Hearts series, I jumped on it.

I really loved the idea of the dream girl being someone no one thought they knew. I always love to watch the secret lives of characters unfold. Dahlia is not your ordinary girl. She's pop-star Cherry, but she's acting as your normal teenage senior for just a year. And into NextGen she goes, with all the other budding artists. Hiding amongst her own, an interesting choice. Of course Dahlia has her struggles.

She wants to remain anonymous, but she also wants to be a normal teenage girl. She seems stuck on the precipice of trying to figure out just how to do that. And falling for a popular guy at school is not one of them. But when Keegen and she start a friendship, she quickly finds she wants more than just to float through school anonymously. She wants to be seen as more than just Cheery the pop-star.

She wants to be seen as Dahlia the song writer. Dahlia is a strong character who is easily relatable despite the fame and fortune she hides beneath her normal every day clothing! Keegen is kind of this swoon worthy geek. And I say that with the utmost love of geeks.

He's not a jock like we see in so many books. He's involved in many school activities, but none of them are sports. And Keegen has a secret crush, which he's determined to turn into more than just that. So given the opportunity to work with Dahlia to do so, he jumps on it. I love that we see the characters from the previous books, albeit briefly, in this installment.

It's always nice to come back to those familiar personalities. Of course a love story wouldn't be a love story without a twist. And this one has a twist I wasn't really sure the characters could overcome. But because they are both strong and know what they want, they were able to see that love truly is thicker than anything you can throw at it.

The author sticks with even pacing, never too slow or too fast, that keeps you interested in what will happen next. And this book can be read as a stand alone, despite the re-introduction of characters from the other stories.

The Secret Life of a Dream Girl is a sweet and satisfying teen contemporary read. Anyone who enjoyed the other books in this series, or authors such as Kasie West, Elizabeth Perkins, and Jennifer E Smith will enjoy this book.

Jun 16, Cristina My Tiny Obsessions rated it it was amazing. But I have to say that I think this one is my favorite! I do like this formula! The writing was amazing. I absolutely loved Dahlia! Keegan was so amazing! Having a business guy in the middle of all those artists is brilliant, especially because it also makes you think how important what he does is to the whole artist vibe of his friends. They both have so many layers!

I love them both. The plot was really simple and great. It was really great to see little glimpses of the characters of the other books, especially Finn, who keeps getting better and better throughout the books. Jul 07, Suze Lavender rated it it was amazing. Cherry is an international superstar. She's worked hard for years and now she wants a break, so she can get her independence and freedom back for a little while. That's why she goes to a regular high school as Dahlia.

There nobody knows who she is and she tries to stay in the shadows to keep it that way. There's one guy who notices her though. His name is Keegan and he likes her from the start, but he doesn't know how to ask her out.

Dahlia overhears Keegan when he talks about the girl he likes. Because he's such a nice guy she wants him to be happy. She decides to help him to get his dream girl and has no idea that she's the one he's in love with. They go on a few practice dates, but Dahlia can't tell Keegan the truth about her identity. Will who Dahlia is matter in the end and will she and Keegan have a chance to get to know each other? The Secret Life of a Dream Girl is a sweet romantic story.

Dahlia and Keegan don't have simple lives. Dahlia's father is controlling and he wants her to make money. She wants to live her own life instead. While going to school and being Dahlia she finally has the chance to figure out who she really is. She's such a kindhearted girl with so many talents and she's easy to like. Keegan's dad is ill and he has a difficult time at home. I had tears in my eyes when I read about this.

Keegan is a good guy. He's charming, attentive and friendly. He and Dahlia have great chemistry and it's clear from the start that they belong together. The Secret Life of a Dream Girl is a quick and straightforward read with a lot of depth. Tracy Deebs writes about serious topics in a sensitive and understanding way. Her descriptions of emotions are clear and complete, I could feel them without any difficulties and liked that very much.

Dahlia and Keegan are wonderful people and they're also really good together. Their story managed to grip me from the start. Tracy Deebs writes vividly and I loved the way she describes and understands music, which shows in the way Dahlia and Keegan communicate together. I especially enjoyed the little things, like the way they write their texts.

Tracy Deebs knows how important something small can be and I loved how she uses that for her story. It's what makes her book so heartwarming and adorable. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Readers also enjoyed. Young Adult.
